Kristen E. Porter, MAc, LAc

Kristen Porter, MAc, LAc became Executive Director of Pathways to Wellness in July 2002. She served as Pathways Clinical Director from 1995 until then and prior to that as a staff acupuncturist. She is now celebrating 15 years of service to Pathways to Wellness.

Ms. Porter holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture and completed a post-graduate residency in OB/GYN in Hangzhou, China. She also holds a business degree with special concentration in organizational behavior from Boston University.

She is an Adjunct Professor at the New England School of Acupuncture in Practice Management & Business Development and lectures around the world on complementary medicine, public health, and immunology. Ms. Porter has been the co-investigator on several research studies on the efficacy of acupuncture for HIV/AIDS and is a monthly columnist for the national publication, Acupuncture Today.

Ms. Porter has practiced acupuncture in private practice settings, hospital and hospice settings, and through home care at Pathways.  She has supervised students and Master clinicians extensively over the last decade in various holistic modalities, and provides consulting in areas of practice management and development, outreach and education, integration of service, nonprofit start up and management, and clinical supervision.

Ms. Porter has served on many boards and committees including the Lesbian AIDS Project of Massachusetts, the Boston AIDS Service Organization Executive Director’s Committee, and as president of A World of Choices.
